Former prosecutor joins The Agency’s Queensland team

The Agency has welcomed leading agent and former prosecutor Joseph Leong to their growing Queensland team.

Joseph Leong joined the real estate industry in 2015 and has established himself as the leading agent of Brisbaneโ€™s inner south.

Mr Leong has a professional background working as a lawyer, as a prosecutor for the Queensland office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for many years, as well as in corporate law, focusing on financial services and mergers and acquisitions.ย

While he may have cut his professional teeth making multi-million dollar deals downtown in the ritzy offices of Australiaโ€™s top tier law firms, itโ€™s in the heart of the community where Mr Leong said he was most comfortable.

โ€œThe thing I love about real estate is the relationships you build and the trust that your clients place in you. Some of my clients have turned into lifelong friends,โ€ Mr Leong said.

From family homes and investments to development sites, Mr Leong’s extensive property history sees clients return to him time and time again. With an accumulation of close to $136 million under his belt, he confidently takes on any sale with a direct and efficient approach.

Despite the big figures and deals under his belt, Mr Leong has his feet firmly planted on the ground and says heโ€™s not the type of agent who โ€œturns up in an AMG and posts about it on Instagramโ€.

โ€œFor me, real estate is about the attitude and itโ€™s all about the people. For a seller, Iโ€™m there to market their property to the highest standard,” Mr Leong said.

โ€œI get clients from five years ago who call me, saying โ€˜Oh, I met you at an open house, you have kept in touch with me even though I told you time and time again I wasnโ€™t interested in selling. Now I have come to sell, I couldnโ€™t think of anyone else who is more perfect to sell my property for me’.

“Itโ€™s that genuine connection with people and ability to create a relationship that really matters in this industry.โ€ย

With 10 sales already transacted for the month of July, Mr Leong looks at it in terms of โ€œhelping 20 families make their next move to and from the area.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not just about the sale but caring about people that goes a long way. Thatโ€™s the approach I take,โ€ Mr Leong said.

Mr Leong said he prides himself on his negotiation skills and ability to deliver the best results for his sellers with an auction strategy.

โ€œAt the end of the day, my clients put their faith in me to deliver the best possible result for them, and I always settle on their terms.โ€

Mr Leong believed his move to The Agency will allow him to better serve his clients.

โ€œIโ€™m excited to be joining The Agency and be part of the growth trajectory the company is on.

“Andrew Jensen (The Agency Chief Operating Officer) and David Price (The Agency General Manager Queensland) have built a platform in Queensland that I really admire and their track record speaks for itself,โ€ Mr Leong said.ย
