Reflecting on his decision to step away from professional sports, Mr Pearce said, “For many players in Australia, retiring from football rarely comes with long-term financial security.
“Coaching might be the natural progression for some, but at my age, I saw the opportunity to build a career beyond football, one that leveraged the skills I’d developed as an athlete.”

Spending over 150 games as a second-choice goalkeeper, he understood the importance of consistently showing up, training with intent, and being ready when the moment finally arrived.
“Being a professional footballer taught me how valuable the ‘one percenters’ are,” Mr Pearce said.
