First National recognises best in the west at WA 2020 GEM Awards

First National Real Estate’s Western Australia agents have been recognised for their achievements, with the network holding its WA 2020 General Excellence and Marketing Awards at Crown Perth on Friday night.

First National Hedland (Port Hedland) was the night’s big winner, taking home the Magnificent 7 – No 1 Sales Office of the Year and Magnificent 7 – No 1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year awards.

Topping the individual awards was Kathryn State, from First National Kalgoorlie, who took home Magnificent 7 – No 1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year; Amy Doran, from First National Hedland, who won Magnificent 7 – No 1 Business Development Manager of the Year, and Rick Hockey, First National Hedland, who achieved Magnificent 7 – No 1 Salesperson of the Year.

First National’s WA State Chairman Joe Bryant said Western Australia was beset by inventory shortages in the sales and rental sectors throughout 2020.

He said home prices appeared to have bottomed throughout most regions and were now on the way up, but rental stock availability will remain at almost crisis levels throughout 2021.

“While our Western Australia membership is grateful the impacts of COVID-19 were not as severe as in the eastern states, our property managers still bore the brunt of commercial and residential tenancy challenges, and I know that every principal at our awards presentation tonight is deeply appreciative of the tenacity they showed,” Mr Bryant said.

“Fortunately, strong levels of inquiry from city-based lifestyle-change aspirants earlier in the year translated to solid activity in the latter part of the year, enabling our sales agents to achieve some exceptional results. I congratulate First National Hedland, in particular, on its outstanding 2020 results’
