Colliers International ACT to expand with a new office in the Civic Quarter

After recently taking out the 2019 Real Estate Institute of Australia Commercial Agency of the Year, Colliers International ACT has outgrown its current office space and will move into the A-Grade Civic Quarter (CQ) when it is completed later this year.

โ€œOur business has continually performed strongly year-on-year and this has allowed us to continue to welcome new members to our team to cater for the growing needs of our clients,โ€ said Paul Powderly, Colliers International State Chief Executive.

โ€œAfter 12 years in our space at New Acton, the time has arrived where we needed to seek out larger premises.โ€

Colliers International will be the first tenant to commit to space in the Civic Quarter, which is located in the heart of the CBD and adjacent to the cityโ€™s new light rail corridor.

โ€œThe A-Grade city office market is extremely tight. As soon as leading Canberra developer Amalgamated Property Group announced it would be constructing a world-class office building in the CBD, we knew this created an opportunity we had to explore,โ€ Mr Powderly explained.

โ€œOur office in New Acton has served us exceptionally well for over a decade, but we are now at full capacity,” he said.

Colliers International will lease 800 sq ms in CQ โ€“ a nearly 50 per cent increase on its current accommodation size.

โ€œCQ offers innovative design and services that made it the clear front runner when we started weighing our future relocation options,โ€ Mr Powderly said. โ€œCQ is the first building in Canberra to seek a WELL rating; it will also have concierge services and outstanding end of trip facilities.

โ€œIts location, particularly with light rail on our doorstep, will make it easy for staff to get to work and our clients to visit us.โ€
