Clearance rates remain above 70 percent (W/E 16/10/16)

It has been another strong week for auction results, with a preliminary auction clearance rate of 77.9 per cent.

There were 2,405 auctions held across the combined capital cities. Auction volumes still remain below levels of last year. The clearance rate has remained above 70 percent since the last w eek in July. Last week, the final auction clearance rate w as recorded at 76.4 per cent w ith 2,290 residential properties taken to auction. At the same time last year, auction volumes w ere higher, w ith 2,858 capital city auctions held, 67.4 percent w ere successful. Sydney’s clearance rate continues to be nation leading, however, the number of auctions held is still lower that at the same time last year.Preliminary clearance rates in each state courtesy of CoreLogic (as at 9am EDST 02/10/2016):

  • Sydney – 83.8% clearance, 881 total auctions, 717 results reported, 597 cleared, 120 uncleared
  • Melbourne – 78.5% clearance, 1,179 total auctions, 1,042 results reported, 818 cleared, 224 uncleared
  • Brisbane – 52.2% clearance, 148 total auctions, 90 results reported, 47 cleared, 43 uncleared
  • Adelaide – 67.9% clearance, 82 total auctions, 53 results reported, 36 cleared, 17 uncleared
  • Perth – 50.0% clearance, 33 total auctions, 12 results reported, 6 cleared, 6 uncleared

 

  • Tasmania – 50.0% clearance, 8 total auctions, 2 results reported, 1 cleared, 1 uncleared
  • Canberra – 83.9% clearance, 74 total auctions, 62 results reported, 52 cleared, 10 uncleared
