Bill and David Malouf join Highland network with new Double Bay office

Bill and David Malouf have joined forces with David Highland, further expanding the Highland network and showing their ever-growing strength in the property market.

The Announcement:

Bill Malouf, one of the biggest names in Australian prestige real estate, together with his son David, have joined forces with the Highland network to establish a Double Bay office.

This comes after a period of record growth and exciting developments for the Highland brand, further highlighting an ambitious future and demonstrating its ever-growing strength in the property market.

This decision also comes from notable patterns that were highlighted throughout the global pandemic amongst buyers and tenants between Southern Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs. Highland, through exclusive market processes and an endeavour to set new benchmarks nation-wide, are on track to achieve just under $2 billion in sales since the beginning of 2021.

“Partnering with Bill and David Malouf, the biggest names in Australian prestige real estate, is a highly strategic decision, and one that perfectly aligns with the direction the Highland group is taking,” says founder David Highland. “We are thrilled about this partnership. Their previous experience, in conjunction with their unrivalled market presence and unbeatable track record will create a formidable force within the real estate industry at a national level.”

He sees the move into Double Bay as very much a strategic decision for two businesses that share a similar ethos and customer-centric thinking. “I have the utmost respect for what the Malouf’s have achieved and admire their dominating market presence. I am genuinely excited by the possibilities of what we can achieve together.” With an exciting real estate market on the horizon, David says “this move provides our broader group with an unrivalled platform. On offer to our agents is wider reach and market visibility across Sydney than any other agency. This is a great benefit to our clients, particularly those within the prestige market”. With COVID-19 introducing a now more permanent work-from-home landscape, a large proportion of the work force is no longer commuting to Sydney CBD, therefore fostering a stronger relationship between the east and south like never before.

With Bill and David Malouf leading the way, the Double Bay office will introduce the Highland brand to Sydney’s vibrant eastern suburbs. David Highland will continue as Highland CEO heading the already established three offices and act as Partner and Co-Director of the newly formed Highland Double Bay Malouf agency.

Mark Meyer, Managing Director Principal and Licensee in charge of LJ Hooker Double Bay, will be moving into a full-time Project Marketing focus outside of Highland Double Bay Malouf and will continue to maintain an ongoing relationship with the business and its clients in Property Management and Sales. Highland is independently owned and operated, meaning agents under this brand are not bound by franchise agreements, which paves way for cross referrals and a highly collaborative agent environment.

Bill Malouf shares the same drive to merge forces with real estate powerhouse Highland. He says, “Highland is one of the strongest real estate platforms we have seen in the industry. They are customer-centric, culture-focused and results driven. Over the last 14 years, we have watched Highland evolve and experience unprecedented growth from a local to national level. They are a full-service brand offering highly modernised and innovative real estate solutions, backed by refined processes and the strategic leadership of David Highland.”

Combining Highland’s already established customer-centric and culture-focused DNA, along with a result driven approach that both brands adopt, this partnership is going to thrive at all market levels. “The networking opportunities that working in a partnership can offer are second to none and we knew this was the right decision” says Malouf.

Highland specialises in Residential Sales and Property Management, but also has a number of strategic arms including Project Marketing, Commercial Property, Concierge, Finance, Insurance and a specialist in-house Marketing division. The addition of Highland Double Bay Malouf will pave way for an unbeatable real estate experience.

This strategic merger was brokered by Anthony Bell, from Bell Partners Chartered Accountants.
