REIWAโs annual Gift of the Gavel Auctioneering Championships concluded yesterday, with Adam Piller from Caporn Young Estate Agents taking out first place.
REIWA CEO Neville Pozzi said the Auctioneering Championships showcased WAโs talent in the auction space.
โWhile auctions remain a niche segment of the Western Australian sales market, they are becoming increasingly popular with sellers who are wanting their listing to stand out in a competitive market,โ Mr Pozzi said.
Held at REIWA Head Office in Subiaco, the Instituteโs Auctioneering Championships saw a selection of WAโs best auctioneers battle it out for the 2018 title.
โThis yearโs championships showcased the auction talent we have on display here in WA and Iโd like to thank all of our participants for their role in helping to lift the profile of auctioneering in WA,โ Mr Pozzi said.
โCongratulations to Mr Piller on winning the 2018 championship title and setting the standard of excellence in WA for auctioneering. His performance serves as a great benchmark for his colleagues.
โIโd also like to congratulate our runner-up, and last yearโs winner, Tom Esze from tomesze.com for his second place achievement and fine performance,โ Mr Pozzi said.
Mr Piller and Mr Esze will both represent REIWA at the 2018 Australasian Auctioneering Championships in Auckland this October.
In the novice category of the Championships held on 13 June, Prash Nayar from Harcourts Integrity took out top honours for the second year in a row. Mr Nayar was presented with his award at the senior category championships.
