KISS rocker Gene Simmons cuts Beverly Hills mansion price to $12.5 million

The 76-year-old bassist has reduced his asking price by US$1.5 million but says he won't sell to "schmucks."

KISS co-founder Gene Simmons has dropped the price of his Beverly Hills home by US$1.5 million, now asking US$12.5 million (AUD$17.8 million) for the modern mansion.

The property first listed in April last year at US$13.995 million.

According to Mansion Global, Simmons, who founded the rock band in New York in the 1970s with Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and the late Ace Frehley, has been selective about potential buyers.

The glass, steel, oak and concrete residence spans more than 7,700 square feet and features a dramatic entryway with a towering bronze sculptural wall, tall ceilings and walls of windows offering views of the mountains, valley and Pacific Ocean.

A striking example of modern architectural excellence, the residence was designed by Swiss architect Design21 and showcases a seamless fusion of glass, steel, oak wood and concrete.

Elevated above the hillside, the home opens to 1,800 square feet of deck space, framing sweeping views across the mountains, valley and Pacific Ocean while blurring the line between indoor living and the surrounding landscape.

LEED-inspired and technologically advanced, the property features solar-powered systems, radiant heated flooring and fire-resistant triple-panel windows, reflecting both sustainability and refined Swiss precision.

The home includes four bedrooms, an art gallery space, a soundproofed home theatre, outdoor living areas and a 40-foot black-tiled infinity pool and spa.
