First National Real Estate McColms, in the Queensland city of Bundaberg, has changed hands.
The announcement:
Considered a near-founding member of First National Real Estate in Queensland, having joined the cooperative in 1984, First National Real Estate McColms has just changed hands.
New owner, Justin Mayberry, is excited about taking the reins from Heather Galley and advancing the agency into the future.ย
“McColms has been a household name for Bundaberg real estate since Heatherโs grandparents, John and Ethel McColm, started the business back in 1939,” says Justin Mayberry.
“Heatherโs father joined the estate agency in 1951, then Heather followed in 1970, subsequently becoming the agencyโs licensed agent, auctioneer and valuer, as well as something of an icon for women in real estate.
Justin Mayberry is no stranger to Bundaberg real estate, having been in business locally for more than 20 years. With Heather moving into retirement and the chance to purchase First National McColms arising, it was just too good an opportunity to refuse, according to Justin.
“The McColm family are well-respected members of the Bundaberg business community and I intend to build upon their legacy of exceptional service, while at the same time adopting new First National technologies that will reshape the future of the business.
“Professional development, digital marketing, streamlined systems and a culture of expertise sharing are the major attractions to First National Real Estate for me. Iโm looking forward to attending the networkโs Convention in Canberra this May, building connections, and getting new ideas.”
First Nationalโs Queensland Business Growth Manager, Greg Reed, has recently completed Mr Mayberryโs induction to the network and says heโs looking forward to helping the business achieve its growth goals.
“Justin has embraced so much of what this network has to offer that he is certain to thrive in our environment. His grasp of the digital marketing sphere and forward planning assure that the legacy of First National McColms is not only in good hands, itโs future is looking exceptionally bright.“
