Stone Real Estate adds Gary Hassett to franchise growth team in QLD

Fast-expanding real estate network Stone has bolstered its business growth capabilities in Queensland with the hire of Gary Hassett.

The Announcement:

Fast-growing, boutique real estate firm Stone Real Estate has announced the hire of Gary Hassett in Queensland to help the brand pursue further franchising opportunities in the state.

Mr Hassett has worked in the industry for almost 20 years, having started out in the UK running his own real estate business.

He moved to Australia a decade ago, and in that time has racked up deep experience in sales, management, growth, recruitment and more.

Having spent time as a real estate agent, manager and director, Mr Hassett has a strong background in business growth and marketing.

He’ll be working alongside Chris Roy who joined the franchise growth team in late 2021, and Mr Hassett says he is looking forward to managing, motivating and mentoring a successful and expanding team in Queensland.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge with Stone Real Estate. A big part of this role is about recruitment and getting the right people on board, people that are aligned with our values at Stone, so that’s going to be very important. It’s also about making sure our people are happy in their current jobs, and my past experience will help with all of these aspects,” he said.

“I was drawn to Stone Real Estate for a number of reasons, but it was obvious from the beginning that it is a very progressive company. Having spoken at length with the senior executive team, the thing that struck me was the company is full of very good, down-to-earth people who are hungry to grow and get better.”

Stone Real Estate Head of Franchise Luke Cameron said: “I’m delighted to welcome Gary Hassett to further strengthen our QLD business growth team.

Gary brings 19 years experience both here in Australia and in the UK specialising in leadership, sales management and franchising.

“Gary most recently was pioneering the Coronis group’s franchise expansion, and will complement Scott Kelly and Chris Roy on the ground in QLD.”

As mentioned, Mr Hassett will be working alongside Chris Roy with a focus on franchise growth opportunities.

“I’ve met Chris a couple of times and it’s been great. I’m really excited for the opportunity to work alongside him and I can’t wait to get underway. I’m keen to get things ramped up here in Queensland, I’m very grateful for the opportunity and hopefully you’ll see many more offices open in here over the coming months and years,” he added.

While admitting nobody can predict far off into the future, Mr Hassett is bullish about immediate growth in the Queensland property market.

“In the short term the market is very strong and there’s still a significant lack of supply while demand is so high and interest rates remain low. Nothing is going to put the brakes on the current growth we are experiencing anytime soon.”
