A Palm Springs mid-century property once owned by Emmy, Tony and Grammy-winning actress-comedian Lily Tomlin has hit the market for US$3.895 million (approximately AUD$6.2 million).
The 434-square-metre home, affectionately known as the “Lily Pad,” sits on a half-acre block in the exclusive Old Las Palmas neighbourhood, which is a historic enclave that has long attracted Hollywood royalty to the California desert.
Ms Tomlin, best known for her roles in “9 to 5” and the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie,” purchased the retreat for US$496,000 in 1997.

She and her wife, writer-producer Jane Wagner, used it as a seasonal getaway before selling in 2003 for US$995,000.
The current owner, who purchased the property in 2004 for US$2.3 million, has overseen significant updates to the 1952-built residence.
The four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home now features travertine tile flooring throughout and a spacious living room with a wet bar.

Large sliding doors connect multiple living areas to the outdoor entertaining space, which includes a pool, spa, outdoor kitchen and natural stone fireplace.
The primary suite offers direct backyard access and includes a soaking tub, walk-in shower, built-in wardrobe and one of the home’s five fireplaces.

The attached guest house added after Ms Tomlin’s ownership spans nearly 1,000sq feet and includes its own living area with fireplace and a bedroom suite.
The eat-in kitchen contains stainless-steel appliances and a centre island with a cutting board top.
Mansion Global reported the house has been nicknamed “Lily Pad” in Ms Tomlin’s honour – and there’s a plaque to prove it.
The son of the current owner is a musician who named his studio “Lily Pad Recording” after the home.
