Ray White and former Woolies executive join forces in Maleny

Ray While Queensland works alongside former Woolworths executive Allister Millican to develop property market in regional Sunshine Coast areas.

The Announcement:

With extensive business acumen and local knowledge, Allister Millican is set to take the real estate offering in Maleny to the next level, since pairing with Australasia’s largest real estate brand.

The former Woolworths executive who has spent his 20 year career working across industrial product projects and acquisitions, has decided to pour his expertise in sales, development and corporate relations into a career in real estate.

“I have spent many years flipping houses, and always felt that it could have been done a little better, from communication to the processes,” Mr Millican said.

“It has inspired me and set me on a path to build a leading agency, in the place I call home, Maleny.”

Mr Millican has proudly been a local to the Hinterland region for the last 7 years, and has has called the Sunshine Coast home for the last 16 years

“Maleny is a unique and beautiful place to live. I absolutely loved living on my cattle farm and spending my spare time farming, building and playing around in my shed,” he said.

The region has always been a major attraction for a scenic lifestyle or escape, but has seen a particular surge in the past 12 months due to the pandemic.

“The median sale price in Maleny is going through the roof, month after month,” Mr Millican said.

“And when you come and see the place, it’s no mystery why.”

Mr Millican said the beautiful natural waterfalls and rainforests, and the proximity to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane add to the appeal.

The Ray White Maleny team will endeavour to become the go-to property specialists in the area, whether that is the town’s residential housing or hobby farms and acreage.

Mr Millican said he was currently in the throes of recruiting an excellent property manager to service the existing rent roll, and was on the lookout for ambitious sales agents.

“I am really keen to surround myself with passionate, like-minded people as I believe the culture of any business is the most important element,” he said.

Mr Millican said he already has great relationships with many members of the Maleny community, and that he hopes his connections will assist with the business success.

A true Ray White agent at heart, he said that auctions were at the top of his list to bring in as the norm for a town that rarely conducts them.

“The household name of the Ray White brand, as well as the corporate support was a huge drawcard for me,” Mr Millican said.

“I have worked across a lot of tech projects in my time, so I could see how advanced Ray White was with their technology offering,” he said.

Mr Millican said he is looking forward to bringing that technology to his clients in Maleny, as well as new modern marketing.

“We are passionate about video marketing and using high quality photographers and suppliers,” he said.

“I am also really keen to implement excellent digital marketing across our properties and our own business.”

Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew congratulated Mr Millican on the opening of Ray White Maleny.

“We are thrilled that Allister has decided to join us. He is set to amplify the real estate offering in Maleny, and I am looking forward to seeing what he achieves for his local community,” Mr Andrew said.
