Ray White Collective calls in the big guns

Brisbane agency, Ray White Collective, has announced the appointment of highly experienced auctioneer Peter Burgin as Chief Auctioneer and Head of Performance.

Peter Burgin brings over two decades of industry expertise and a remarkable track record of more than 15,000 auctions to Brisbane’s leading real estate business.

The 54-year-old joins Ray White Collective after 23 years with a local agency, where he honed his operational experience and performance training success.

He will help Brisbane’s leading real estate group to continue to drive and grow.

His appointment represents a significant strategic move for Ray White Collective as it continues to strengthen its market position across Brisbane.

“Peter’s appointment is a game-changer for Ray White Collective,” CEO Haesley Cush said.

“His extensive experience, having called over 15,000 auctions throughout his career, combined with his deep understanding of the Brisbane market, makes him the perfect fit for our Chief Auctioneer role.

“Peter’s energy and excitement are infectious, and we’re thrilled to have someone of his calibre leading our performance initiatives. He is an innovative marketer and also leads the auction chapter with the REIQ.”

Ray White Collective Principal Matt Lancashire echoed the enthusiasm surrounding Peter Burgin’s appointment.

“Peter brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and a proven track record that will help us to drive growth and elevate our auction capabilities across the network. His reputation in the industry speaks for itself, and his appointment signals our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our clients and network partners.”

Born in Sydney and raised in Melbourne before moving to Brisbane at age 12, Peter Burgin has called Australia’s eastern seaboard home throughout his life.

His journey into real estate began in 2002, starting as a salesperson before moving into auctioneering.

“I began as a salesperson and after 3.5 years transitioned into auctioneering, and I’ve been calling auctions ever since. Prior to real estate, I worked as a plant and equipment auctioneer for six years, which gave me valuable experience in the auction environment,” Mr Burgin said.

“I’m incredibly happy both personally and professionally right now and I cannot,” he said.

The appointment follows extensive discussions and reflects Mr Burgin’s long-standing admiration for the Ray White Group with its cutting edge technology and strong local leadership.

“I’ve known Haes for a long time, and the energy and excitement at Ray White Collective was hard to pass up. I’ve always admired the scale of Ray White and the calibre of people within the huge group. It’s time to level up”

Mr Burgin acknowledged the family-oriented culture that drew him to Ray White Collective.

“I was blown away by the family atmosphere – it’s run like a family business,” he said.

“The people, particularly Matt and Haesley, are impressive leaders.

“The way I’ve been treated well by Mark McLeod and Dan White from day one has been incredible.”

The experienced auctioneer acknowledges the competitive benchmark that Ray White represents in the industry.

“Most sales and auctions are measured by Ray White standards. Their technology development addresses different pain points in the market, and the people are what make the difference.”

With aspirations to potentially open an office in the future, Mr Burgin sees his role at Ray White Collective as perfectly aligned with his career goals.

“The planets are aligned now for this move. I’m also very impressed and nostalgic about the group’s 123 year incredible history.”

As Chief Auctioneer and Head of Performance, Peter Burgin will be responsible for leading Ray White Collective’s auction strategy and performance training across the network, drawing on his extensive experience and proven success in the competitive Brisbane market.

The appointment reinforces Ray White Collective’s commitment to attracting top-tier talent and maintaining its position as a market leader in Australian real estate.
