Raine & Horne has opened a new office in Ellenbrook – a commuter belt suburb of Perth, 45 kilometres northeast of the central business district.
Ron Lyster, an experienced local real estate agent and property development manager, will lead Raine & Horne Ellenbrook. Mr Lyster has switched to Raine & Horne from another leading real estate group.
โRon has been a real estate principal since January 2005 when the now Raine & Horne Ellenbrook opened,โ said Craig Abbott, General Manager WA, Raine & Horne.
โRon joins us with over 25 years in the property development experience with LWP Property Group, Multiplex, Satterley Property Group, Yaran Property Group, in addition to his real estate sales experience. Ronโs knowledge and expertise in property development are perfect, given there are extensive tracts of off-the-plan developments around Ellenbrook attracting the attention of first home buyers.โ
According to data from Raine & Horne Ellenbrook, up to 40 per cent of buyers are first-home buyers, although Mr Abbott added that there is a good proportion of rural downsizers shifting to the fringe Perth suburb. โIt’s not just the young families who are moving to Ellenbrook,โ he said.
โSince Ellenbrook is on the outskirts of the metropolitan area, you’re also getting country people from the land seeking to downsize to a 500-800 square metre block. So Ellenbrook caters to a couple of different types of property demographics.โ
Mr Lyster attributes his decision to join Raine & Horne to his developing relationship with the groupโs senior executives. Mr Abbott advised the newest Raine & Horne principal about the management of his rent roll.
โI liked Craigโs approach and the decision to switch to Raine & Horne developed from there.ย Heโs given me a great insight into Raine & Horne, which is a significant real estate brand on the east coast of Australia and is now making more inroads in Western Australia.
Mr Lyster said that Ellenbrookโs affordability is attracting first-time buyers. โItโs possible to buy small blocks from 400 square metres for around $200,000, while established homes are selling for about $400,00,โ he said.
โEllenbrook locals can find work opportunities close by in suburbs such as Midland, Wangara and Bullsbrook, while the Tonkin Highway extension which is underway will reduce commute times to Perth significantly.”
A proposed train station connecting the suburb to Perth would also be good news for those considering Ellenbrook real estate, said Mr Lyster.
โThis proposal has been bandied around for many, many years, and it would be good to see the government make a train station at Ellenbrook happen.โ
