The sprawling Connecticut estate where pop icon Mariah Carey recorded part of her most recent music has just had a notable price cut—now listed for $12.4 million USD (approx. $18.6 million AUD).
Previously offered at $13.9 million USD (approx. $20.9 million AUD), the New Canaan property, known as Orchard’s End, was recently reduced ahead of what could be a renewed push to sell.
The Jacobean-style manor had quietly served as a creative retreat for Carey over the past year and a half, with the singer even appearing in a 2024 music video for “Made for Me” while walking through the estate.

As reported by CT Insider, the 18,000-square-foot estate—set on 6.25 acres along Oenoke Ridge—was originally designed in 1929 by renowned architect William B. Tubby.
It has since been expanded by architect Dinyar Wadia, who added a 2,000-square-foot guest house and a purpose-built 5,000-square-foot wellness centre, alongside a new pool, spa, and multiple entertaining terraces.

Inside the main residence are 12 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms (including four powder rooms), and a host of luxury features, from a 14-seat cinema to a Duart Castle-inspired great room, bronze handrails, and a wine cellar.
Rental history and high-profile tenants
Listing agent Danielle Malloy at SERHANT Connecticut, confirmed that Ms Carey had rented the estate while recording her latest album.
She joins a list of notable former residents including Mexican politician Carlos Hank González, who owned the home in the 1980s.

Records show the property last sold in 2014 for $6.4 million USD, and had been sporadically listed in 2022 and 2023 before being rented out. The home returned to the market on 28 March this year.
While the current asking price is $12.4 million USD, the property is also available furnished for $14.5 million USD (approx. $21.7 million AUD).
