Openn Negotiation hosts charity auction to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease

As part of The MNDi Foundation’s annual Racing for MNDi Soiree, Openn Negotiation will facilitate the auction of their major prize to maximise the funds raised.

The annual Racing for MNDi Soiree will be held at the Crown Perth on 10 December. Racing for MNDi was established in April 2017, with MNDi representing Motor Neurone Disease inherited. With a focus on inherited forms of motor neurone disease, Racing for MNDi aims to raise the profile of MND in Australia and seek a cure through genetic-based medical research.

Currently, there is no successful treatment or cure for MND. Racing for MNDi’s funds will go toward research based on inherited forms of MND.

The auction at the annual Racing for MNDi Soiree is offering the opportunity for bidders to buy prizes including:

  • The #1 VIP table, which will include Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo for the evening
  • Three-course dinner plus matching wines
  • Pre-dinner meet-and-greet with Daniel Ricciardo to take pictures and sign memorabilia
  • 5 overnight stays at Crown Towers Perth.

Last year the table sold via negotiation for $10k, but this year with the help of Openn Negotiation the organisation is hoping to eclipse this amount.

Openn Negotiation allows bidders from across the country to participate in the auction using the bidding platform. The final bidding stage will commence at 5pm on Wednesday 21 November and a countdown clock will be displayed on the app to allow qualified buyers time to get in their final bid.

Motor neurone disease (MND), also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a debilitating and terminal illness. It can randomly attack anyone in the sporadic form, or it can be passed down in families; this is known as the inherited form. In both forms nerve cells that control the muscles degenerate and die, so the ability to speak, move, swallow and breathe deteriorates and slowly fails to function.
