A former police station that has been meticulously transformed into a beautiful family home is up for sale in South Australia.
The renovated police station in the heart of Wallaroo, in South Australia, was built in 1890 and has been converted into a stunning home, preserving its period charm while offering all the modern comforts.
The unique property even includes two overnight holding cells that have been transformed into a powder room and a stunning bathroom with a free-standing bath, a large shower, vanity and toilet.
Inside, the home offers three bedrooms, including a large master suite with walk-in robes, high ceilings, arched windows, elegant timber floors and an inviting open fireplace.

Harris Real Estate listing agent Tim Hosking said the current owner worked as a stonemason and a plasterer and has done much of the restoration work himself.
He said the owner had tried to maintain much of the original design, including the holding cells which have been transformed into functional rooms.
Mr Hosking said that in its heyday, the police station wasn’t able to cope with all the “ruffians” and seamen and they needed to expand and had previously built more holding cells both outside the property and on a separate site on the outskirts of the town.
According to Mr Hosking, there has been a huge amount of interest from both home buyers and people wanting to run the property as a bed and breakfast.
“We’ve got one couple interested who are looking at having it as their main residence, like the current owners, and continue to add to the renovation,” Mr Hosking said.
“We’ve also got strong interest from people who are wanting to run it as a bed and breakfast, while also using it themselves as a bit of an escape.”
