Alex Tincknell launches McGrath's new Redlands office

Alex Tincknell has opened McGrath Redlands, a new office for McGrath Estate Agents in the bayside region south-east of Brisbane.

Alex will lead the office as principal, with his wife, Taylor Tincknell, overseeing financial operations. The couple are lifelong residents of the area and previously built and operated a family business employing 25 staff.

Their move into real estate, according to the release, was driven by a desire to raise service standards for property owners in the local community.

Alex said the decision to join McGrath came down to shared values.

“I was looking for a business that matched my expectations around integrity, professionalism and service,” he said.

“After meeting with John McGrath and learning more about the brand, it became clear that McGrath shared the same values and commitment to excellence that I expect from a business. I also wanted to align with a brand that embraces growth, innovation and performance.”

Chris Mourd, head of franchise for McGrath, said Alex had built a strong reputation in the local market.

“Alex has built a great reputation in the Redlands market through hard work, consistency and a genuine connection to the community. What impressed us most was the high standards he sets for his business and the way he looks after his clients. We’re looking forward to supporting Alex and the team as they continue to grow,” Chris said.

McGrath Redlands will service a catchment stretching from Redland Bay in the south to Wellington Point in the north, and from the coastline to Burbank in the west, taking in Cleveland, Victoria Point and Thornlands.

Long-time local agents Jarred Field and Corey Smitheram have joined the office, alongside a property management team of two overseeing 185 properties.

Alex said the Redlands offers a lifestyle point of difference from other coastal markets.

“One of the unique characteristics of our market is that we benefit from a genuine bayside lifestyle without the high-rise development seen in other coastal locations,” he said.

He said growth in the area has been driven by buyers relocating from Brisbane, Logan and interstate in search of more space.

The region is also benefiting from government investment in priority residential development areas around Redland Bay and Thornlands, part of broader infrastructure linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
