Alex Morgan and Craig Nichol will lead the office, which will service from Ivanhoe in the south to Heidelberg West in the north.
The Announcement:
Leading residential real estate group, McGrath Estate Agents, today announced the opening of a new office in Ivanhoe, as its expands its presence to service Melbourneโs northeast at a time when the city is emerging from lockdown and is poised for future growth.
Ivanhoe, located just 9km from Melbourneโs CBD, is considered a โgreenโ precinct. It is known for its abundance of parklands, quiet neighbourhoods, prestigious schools and excellent recreational facilities and a draw for a wide demographic of those wanting to experience its lifestyle, yet well supported by public transport and important infrastructure and healthcare.
Christopher Mourd, Head of Franchise Network for McGrath said, โAs the Melbourne metropolitan suburbs and in fact Victoria are a key element in our expansion plans, Ivanhoe and its surrounds will definitely complement our existing Northcote and Greensborough presence.โ
Mr Mourd adds, โWhile our geographical spread is important to the company, what is equally important is securing business partners and sales professionals that are an appropriate fit for our culture. We are delighted to have partnered with what we consider to be young, enthusiastic operators that are well-known and respected in the area, and who are aligned with McGrathโs own business principles and how we service our clients.โ
McGrath Ivanhoe will service an area from Ivanhoe in the south, to Heidelberg West in the north, and also other suburbs such as Bellfield to the west and Eaglemont in the east. It will be led by Alex Morgan and Craig Nichol, who prior to joining McGrath were Co-Principals of independent agency William Huxley which they jointly established in 2016.
Alex Morgan explains, โThis is an exciting time for our team as we are able to offer our clients a wide selection of property styles and price ranges in not only premium suburbs such as Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East and Eaglemont but also areas that are still to experience further gentrification in Heidelberg Heights, Bellfield and it surrounds. There is an abundance of elite educational options here, and with the growing populations of young families, this is a great drawcard.
โMany would remember Heidelberg West as the location for the 1956 Olympic Games, now with new developments and great public amenity the area has quickly encouraged a growing population of young families. Heidelberg is a bustling activity hub and is also home of one of the largest hospital precincts in Victoria with the Austin & Mercy Hospital and the Olivia Newtown-John Wellness Centre. While these precincts continue to evolve it presents unheard of value so close to the Melbourne CBD.โ Alex concludes.
In deciding to align itself with McGrath, co-principal Craig Nichol explains, โBoth Alex and myself are committed to growing our team and our business. We are incredibly excited about joining a bigger network of real estate professionals, expanding our marketing reach and all that comes from the associated support services that will also benefit our clients greatly.โ
Both Alex and Craig are well known in the community and have worked in the area for well over a decade.
