McGrath Estate Agents has opened a new office in Campsie, expanding the footprint of its existing Bankstown business into what the group is calling McGrath Inner Southwest.

The office is an extension of George Kapos’s McGrath Bankstown operation, which marks its 11th year this year.

The expansion has been driven by the acquisition of Montana Realty, whose principal, Heny Dao, is joining the McGrath team and will continue working across the area.

Chris Mourd, Head of Franchise Network for McGrath, said the decision to open in Campsie reflected the suburb’s growth and its role as a transport and infrastructure hub.

“Campsie is a key gateway to the southwest corridor of Sydney, underpinned by excellent transport links and significant infrastructure investment,” Chris said.

“Opening in Campsie is a natural extension of our successful Bankstown office, allowing us to better services clients across key suburbs in and around Campsie, with a dedicated local team.”

Together with Bankstown, the Campsie office will service Chipping Norton to the west, Berala to the north, Campsie to the east and Punchbowl to the south, with Campsie and Belmore as key suburbs.

George Kapos said Campsie was entering a period of sustained growth.

“Having worked in this area for many years, I believe Campsie is entering a period of sustained growth. Its vibrant community, excellent amenities, and transport connections make it an attractive option for both owner-occupiers and investors, ensuring the suburb continues to be a well sought-after location,” he said.

“The Campsie property market is currently very active, with strong demand for a range of homes, from apartments to freestanding family houses. Renovated properties and homes with good outdoor space are particularly popular with buyers.”

George added the buyer pool spans young families, first-home buyers, downsizers and investors, with strong interest coming from both locals and buyers from elsewhere in Sydney drawn by the area’s transport access and relative affordability.

Median prices over the past year ranged from $1,830,000 for houses to $674,500 for units, with annual compound growth of 3.1 per cent for houses and 3.8 per cent for units.

According to George, current price ranges sit between $750,000 and $850,000 for units, $1,000,000 and $1,200,000 for townhouses, and $1,900,000 and $2,200,000 for houses.

Property management will also be a focus for the Kapos Group, with a combined rent roll of 2,000 properties across the Bankstown and Campsie offices.
