Matt Micallef builds Gold Coast network with bold expansion

Ray White rising star and top-performing principal Matt Micallef has expanded his Gold Coast presence in a bold move, acquiring three established Ray White offices - Nerang, Oxenford and Canungra - as part of his growing real estate network.

This milestone comes just two years after Mr Micallef launched his own business with a Carrara office under the Ray White TMG banner. 

Now with four physical office locations and a 54-person team, the powerhouse business is cementing itself as a major player on the Gold Coast.

“Eight months into our Carrara office, we were already spilling out onto the street,” Mr Micallef said.

“I knew I had to provide a better environment for my staff, somewhere to support their growth and passion, but the success of the Ray White brand on the Gold Coast meant we had to wait patiently for the right opportunity.”

That opportunity came with the acquisition of Ray White Nerang, Ray White Oxenford, and Ray White Canungra, all brilliantly operated by Clint Hynes, a respected figure in the region who has partnered with Ray White TMG and will be focusing on sales.

“Clint has built an incredible foundation. He’ll continue to play a key role in the business, he’s a natural-born leader and someone who will always be integral to our growth story and he can now fully focus on his passion which is sales,” Mr Micallef said.

“Clint’s reputation precedes him, he’s not only built one of the most trusted and high-performing operations in the western corridor, but has also left an indelible mark on the industry through his leadership and consistency over the years,” Mr Micallef said.

“His track record in business ownership speaks volumes, and having him continue on with us is an enormous asset to both our team and our clients.”

This expansion brings not only new territories, but also the addition of 330 properties to the TMG rent roll and a dedicated seven-person property management team across the new locations.

Mr Micallef, now nine years into his real estate career, is one of the top-performing agents in the country, ranked 9th internationally across the Ray White Group last financial year.

His journey began with perseverance – knocking on Ray White Robina’s door five times before landing his first role, and has since seen him awarded Rising Star in Queensland, Ray White Elite status in his fourth year, and Chairman’s Elite every year since.

“I never looked back. Real estate quickly became my passion, and I was lucky enough to find my stride early on,” he said.

Asked why he chose Ray White over any other brand, Mr Micallef is unequivocal: “Ray White is the best at what they do. They’re always two steps ahead, whether it’s technology, branding or corporate support.

With the three new locations in high-growth and family-oriented areas – Nerang, Oxenford, and Canungra – the business is poised to connect with the booming population west of the M1.

The suburbs are known for their affordability, larger land parcels, and increasingly strong demand from first home buyers and investors.

“Canungra in particular is tipped for major growth, with a Woolworths in discussions, several subdivisions happening, the whole area is transforming. Nerang remains one of the most affordable suburbs and still close to the beach, and Oxenford offers great family living close to major Gold Coast attractions,” Mr Micallef said.

His business strategy centres around authenticity, upskilling and community presence.
