LJ Hooker opens two new offices in thriving NSW regional hubs

LJ Hooker have opened two new offices in Bathurst and Griffith as the group continues to expand in New South Wales.

The Announcement:

LJ Hooker has continued to expand into new markets with two offices opening their doors in the state’s Central West and Riverina this month.

LJ Hooker Head of Network, Stephen Mutton, welcomed the new offices in Bathurst and Griffith saying they are an exciting addition and reflected the popularity of the brand.

He has also been impressed by the calibre of talented people joining the network.

“LJ Hooker has become the brand of attraction for the young, energetic and go-getting agents and franchise owners,” he said.

“This next generation sees a vision for their own businesses reflected in our brand. As we head towards our centenary, this will ensure the future of LJ Hooker for many years to come.”

It has been a cracking start for husband-and-wife duo Mark and Amy Dwyer at the new LJ Hooker Bathurst office.

The young couple has already achieved two unconditional sales and listed several other properties just days after opening their agency doors.

“It has been a super busy first week, so a great start for us,” Mr Dwyer, 30, said.

“We are hoping to bring a bit of youth and a fresh approach to the industry in town and I think that is resonating with locals.”

It signals a return of the LJ Hooker brand to Bathurst after an absence of some time.

The town has experienced substantial growth during the past year of up to 50 per cent and remains popular with young families, investors and farmers. It is also set to benefit from a $200m upgrade to the local hospital.

Mr Dwyer started in real estate just three years ago after moving from the building industry. He shares a passion for property with Mrs Dwyer who will be managing front-of-house for their new agency.

The couple, who have a two-year-old son, spoke with several franchises but felt that LJ Hooker was the perfect fit for their business. They were impressed by the support and systems offered.

They are already looking to add more staff to their team of five. The office will also be teaming up with the local NDIS to provide work experience opportunities.

“Our family focus and passion for our community will be our point of difference,” Mr Dwyer said.

“I’ve already signed up for the local ‘Dancing With The Stars’ which aims to raise money for the Cancer Council next month – and I am definitely no dancer.”

After almost 25 years working in the Griffith area, local agent Anthony Sergi has opened his own LJ Hooker office.  The popular Riverina township is growing in popularity due to its affordability and abundance of work.

Mr Sergi was born in Griffith but grew up in Sydney before heading back when he was 21. A father to three teenage children, he specialises in residential sales and property management.

“I always thought we would head back to the city one day, but Griffith is just such a beautiful place to live,” Mr Sergi said.

“It has almost everything you can find in the city and of course, the internet has changed everything. There is an almost endless supply of jobs and just a wonderful lifestyle.”

Residential homes are priced from $400k to $600k making the region attractive for young families and those looking to relocate from metropolitan areas.

It is popular with investors with vacancy rates under one per cent. Stock levels remain tight with some subdivisions earmarked although not yet released.

Mr Sergi is yet to have an official opening for his new office in the town’s main street, instead, he has hit the ground running with new listings and property management.

He felt an affiliation with the LJ Hooker brand and says it is perfect for his new business.

“LJ Hooker is a name that I grew up with and has always had a very strong market presence,” he said.

“It has a great support network and when I considered everything it just made sense.”
