Land tax makes a move to digital

Land tax is going digital in NSW, giving property owners the ability to manage their land tax online.

NSW Fair Trading announced the move this week, which will allow property owners to opt-in to receive their future Notice of Assessment via email, as well as lodge a return, request an exemption or make any changes to property details.

The system will also allow users to view a summary of the assessment notice and account balance, use the online calculator to estimate the amount of land tax liability, and send documents to support an application, or in relation to a query.

At the click of a button, users can view their contact details, an online service history summary and land holdings and exemptions.

Property owners can register by visiting the land tax online portal and entering the Correspondence ID and Client ID found on their 2019 Notice of Assessment.

If they’re unable to log in with their Client ID or Correspondence ID, or wish to register a company or trust, they can call 1300 139 816.
