Jessica Simpson, the pop sensation turned fashion entrepreneur, has put her Hidden Hills property on the market for US$22 million.
The reason behind the sale could be Simpson’s desire to relocate to Nashville, potentially signalling a comeback in her music career, as she revealed in a recent Bustle interview.
The 43-year-old, originally from Texas, purchased the lavish residence ahead of her 2014 marriage to former NFL player Eric Johnson.
Since then, the couple has substantially upgraded the home, which had earlier seen a Martyn Lawrence-Bullard revamp under the Osbournes.
They acquired the property in 2007 for nearly $12.4 million.
Constructed in 2001, the expansive Cape Cod-inspired house sits in the secure, gated community of Hidden Hills.
It features eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. Visitors enter through a double-height foyer, highlighted by an elegant spiral staircase surrounded by towering glass walls.
Inside, the gourmet kitchen comes with state-of-the-art Wolf appliances, a central island, and a walk-in pantry.
Adjacent to it is a family room, complete with a fireplace made of reclaimed brick and set under a vaulted wooden ceiling.
The residence also includes a formal dining room, wood-panelled study, recording studio, and gym.
The master suite boasts a stone fireplace, private balcony, and an opulent bathroom with a soaking tub and steam shower.
The outdoor area presents a resort-like ambience, overlooking stunning city and mountain vistas. It contains a well-maintained lawn, a pool with an adjoining spa, a separate shallow pool, and numerous spots perfect for outdoor relaxation and socialising.
The property also offers a four-car garage and a guesthouse, complete with its own kitchenette.
