James Ledgerwood joins McGrath’s Double Bay office

James Ledgerwood has returned to the McGrath brand, joining Craig Pontey and Michael Finger in the Double Bay office.

McGrath Estate Agents, today announced that James Ledgerwood and his sales associate Ben Fraser will join its Double Bay office under the leadership of Craig Pontey and Michael Finger.

“Michael and I welcome both James and Ben who we have worked with closely over the past two years,” Co-principal Craig Pontey said.

We are exceptionally pleased to have their professionalism, energy and skill levels under our roof.

“Since we joined McGrath late last year, we are in the process of building our team, and we have been very considered in our recruitment process.

To have James and Ben as our first major appointments, sets the tone for us at McGrath Double Bay with respect to who we want to attract to join us.”

John McGrath, Managing Director and CEO of McGrath, welcomed the appointment.

“I’m personally very excited to welcome James back to McGrath,” Mr McGrath said.

“James worked with us on the Gold Coast (2011- 2017) before relocating home to Sydney; and has built an extensive market knowledge during his 20-year career.

I believe he has what it takes to be one of Australia’s leading Agents and under the experienced guidance of Craig and Michael, he should flourish over the next decade.”

Mr Ledgerwood said that he’d had a long relationship with the McGrath brand.

“I’ve had a 13-year friendship with John McGrath and his mentoring has allowed the pathway for my own growth and development,” Mr Ledgerwood said.

His door has always been open to me, despite my working for other agencies in the past few years.

I’m thrilled to return as I’ve always valued the McGrath brand, and now have this exciting opportunity to work with Craig and Michael to service our clients – both vendors and buyers, as ultimately they need to be our focus.”

“Over the past six years James has established himself in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs market and over time has achieved excellent outcomes for his clients, whereby customer service has long been his focus,” Mr Pontey said.

This has been reflected by some excellent sales that include setting the Bondi apartment record in November 2022 when he achieved $8.4 million for the Kew Penthouse at 14/334 Bondi Road, Bondi, [the adjacent suburb to Bondi Beach].”

His other accolades include being a Finalist in the REIQ Agent of the Year 2014.

In 2013 he achieved the Queensland record for highest sale achieved at the time under the hammer for 5 McMillan Court Southport, QLD at $9.8 million.

James will continue to focus on the prestige market in the beachside markets of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs also extending his reach to Bellevue Hill and Vaucluse.
