Inside Maria Sharapova’s $25M beach mansion, and it doesn’t even have a tennis court

Retired tennis superstar Maria Sharapova is making headlines again, this time not with her backhand, but with a jaw-dropping real estate play. The five-time Grand Slam champion has just listed her striking Manhattan Beach residence for $24.995 million (approx. AUD $37.5 million)

Tennis legend Maria Sharapova has officially listed her sleek, custom-built Manhattan Beach residence for $24.995 million (approx. AUD $37.5 million).

The coastal property features dramatic architecture, ocean views and even a bowling alley – but no tennis court.

Located southwest of downtown Los Angeles, the five-bedroom home offers a double-height entry gallery with exposed concrete, a media room, built-in reading nooks, and lush, private outdoor spaces including a pool and fireplace.

Carolwood Estates agent Susan Perryman is handling the sale, which has been described as “one of the most exquisite homes in Manhattan Beach.”

Sharapova, 38, and her fiancé, British entrepreneur Alexander Gilkes, are relocating to spend more time in Europe with family. The couple also own a home in Florida.

Sharapova originally purchased the ocean-view lot for $4.1 million in 2012.

The property hits the market amid a wave of buyer interest in Manhattan Beach’s luxury sector.

According to Redfin, the median sale price in the area was $3.4 million in June, up 4.6% year over year.

Speaking to WSJ, Ms Perryman said there has been heightened activity in the area in the wake of the recent Pacific Palisades fire, with high-end buyers eyeing coastal alternatives.
