Mark Durran, one of Australia’s most experienced hotel transaction advisors, has joined HTL Property to lead the firm’s capital markets division across the Asia-Pacific region.
Mark brings a 36-year track record that includes personally negotiating more than 140 major hotel deals.
His portfolio spans some of the country’s highest-profile sales, including the $530 million Hilton Sydney, the $415 million Marriott Portfolio across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and the $210.5 million Sir Stamford at Circular Quay.
In Sydney’s CBD alone, he has handled four of the last eight major hotel transactions.
“Mark’s reputation for navigating the most complex, valuable and challenging transactions in the market is second to none,” Andrew Jolliffe, Managing Director of HTL Property said.
“His appointment underscores our commitment to providing clients with access to the industry’s most sophisticated capital markets advice and an unmatched network of global and domestic investors.”
Mark joins from Savills, where he led the Hotel Capital Markets team.
Before that, he spent 25 years in senior leadership at JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group.
In his new role, Mark will focus on major hotel brokerage assignments across Australia and New Zealand, while working to connect local assets with investment capital from Asia and other international sources.
“I look forward to combining my experience with HTL’s platform and professional standing to drive exceptional outcomes for our clients during this dynamic period for the hotel investment market,” Mark said.
