These crucial initiatives provide assistance to parents overcoming substance addiction while ensuring their children have the stability and care needed to thrive.
The cheque presentation (pictured) took place at Odyssey House’s Blacktown location, where Harcourts NSW CEO Katrina Tarrant, Performance Coach Stephen Hickson, and Harcourts Unlimited Business Owner Andrew Chrysanthou met with members of the Odyssey House team.
The Harcourts representatives were deeply moved as they learned about the profound impact Odyssey House’s programs have on families working to rebuild their lives.
“It was an honour to present a $3,000 Harcourts Foundation grant to support the life-changing work of the Odyssey Family Recovery Centre,” Katrina Tarrant, CEO Harcourts NSW said.
“This program helps parents and children impacted by substance abuse rebuild their lives with hope and dignity.
“I was deeply moved to receive a beautiful piece of artwork created by a mother and her 3-year-old child in the program. It was an unforgettable reminder of the impact this support has on real families.
“Odyssey House holds a special place in my heart. The former CEO was the father of a childhood friend and a man I deeply admired, and as a mother who has walked the long road beside a child struggling with addiction, I know just how vital these services are.
“We’re incredibly proud to play a small part in helping Odyssey House continue their extraordinary work.”
Odyssey House NSW has been making a difference in the lives of vulnerable families since its establishment in 1977.
As one of Australia’s largest rehabilitation services, it focuses on breaking the generational cycle of substance dependence within families and the broader community.
The Family Recovery Centre programs are tailored to help parents overcome addiction and provide the stability and support their children need, ensuring brighter futures for all.
Speaking on behalf of Odyssey House, Jing Tong, Philanthropy Manager said “A huge thank you to the Harcourts Foundation for visiting our Blacktown Community Hub to see the impact of our work in action.”
“Your kind donation to our Family Recovery Centre will provide tailored support for parents with alcohol and drug use issues to overcome their own challenges whilst creating healthy relationships with their children.
“Our Family Recovery Centre provides a safe place for children to stay together with their parents whilst the parents take part in our Residential Program.
“Thank you, Harcourts Foundation, for being part of the Odyssey community. Together, we’re keeping families together and breaking the cycle of addiction.”
