Geoff Grist has joined Harcourts, bringing more than two decades of experience in Sydney’s Mosman and Neutral Bay markets to the network.
Over 21 years, Geoff has opened his own franchise, acquired a local rent roll, merged with a high-performing property management business and eventually sold it. The move to Harcourts came after he quietly reached out to a contact at the network, a decision that surprised even those closest to him.
“I was a bit restless,” Geoff said. “Sometimes you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for until you find it.”
Andrew McCulloch, CEO of Harcourts NSW, said bringing someone with Geoff’s experience into the network was a significant opportunity.
“Geoff has spent more than two decades building a reputation in one of Sydney’s most competitive real estate markets,” Andrew said.
“People with that depth of experience don’t make a move like this lightly. We’re delighted that Geoff has chosen Harcourts for the next chapter of his career, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve.”
Geoff said he’d found an environment that valued his experience from the outset, backed by the systems, processes and people to support him.
“I was immediately made to feel that my experience was very important to them, and that was also very important to me,” he said.
“Harcourts allowed me to start over, but with the confidence of knowing I’m supported at every stage by like-minded professionals who have my best interests at heart. I felt valued and knew I could make a difference. I’ve already hit the ground running with new opportunities.”
Geoff has owned four homes in Mosman and held both a business and an apartment in Neutral Bay, giving him deep roots in the area he now continues to serve. He said a recent call from clients he’d sold to 20 years earlier, now looking for their next home, summed up why he stays in the business.
“Real estate is a people business. I love helping new and old connections achieve their property goals.”
Since 2004, Geoff has donated a Backpack Bed with every appraisal or sale he completes, amounting to hundreds of beds over two decades. He later discovered Harcourts has supported the same charity for years.
“I didn’t know it at the time, but our values were already fully aligned. That’s something I’m genuinely proud of,” he said.
“I have very high expectations,” Geoff said. “And Harcourts have delivered.”
