Brent Harriage and Janine Pepyat have opened First National Prom Country in Meeniyan, bringing together Brent’s 25 years of sales experience across South Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley with Janine’s 14 years in residential and commercial property.
The new business will offer residential sales, property management, rural and lifestyle, commercial and industrial services across South Gippsland, Bass Coast and surrounds.
For Brent, opening under the First National banner was the natural next step after a career that began with the network in Mirboo North.
“I’ve worked with several business models over the years, but First National stood out because it allows us to remain independent while benefiting from a respected national brand and a collaborative network,” Brent said.
“People know the First National name throughout Gippsland. It’s recognised, it’s trusted, and importantly, it’s not a franchise. That independence was very important to us as we built our own business.”
Janine, who has worked across South Gippsland and Bass Coast, said the network’s cooperative culture made the decision straightforward.
“It felt like the right time to establish our own business with a network where members work together rather than compete,” she said.
“We wanted the freedom to build a business that reflects our values while having access to outstanding technology, marketing and communications support.”
Brent, who has previously owned successful agencies in the region, said the business’s approach would centre on service fundamentals.
“Real estate has always been about helping people move forward, whether they’re buying their first home, selling a family property or growing a business,” he said.

Janine said combining their respective strengths across residential, commercial and property management would allow the business to offer clients practical advice and personalised service backed by a national network.
