Ervin Niyaz joins Colliers’ Melbourne North West team

Experienced commercial property specialist Ervin Niyaz has been appointed as Director, Investment Services at Colliers' Melbourne North West team based at Essendon Fields.

Colliers has appointed Ervin Niyaz as Director, Investment Services, joining the Melbourne North West team based at Essendon Fields.

Mr Niyaz brings over 11 years of experience in the commercial property market, including eight years at Fitzroys, to his new role where he will work alongside Travis Keenan in leading the team.

The strategic hire marks another milestone in Colliers’ expansion into Melbourne’s dynamic growth corridors, reinforcing its commitment to servicing the increasing demand for premium investments and development assets across the region.

Matthew Meynell, Managing Director, Office Capital Markets & Investment Services, said the success of the Melbourne North West team since launching earlier this year has been exceptional.

“Bringing Ervin on board is a strategic move to further strengthen our capabilities in the region,” Mr Meynell said.

“His deep market knowledge and proven track record will complement the team and help us continue to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”

Since bringing Colliers Investment Services to the Essendon Fields office in January 2025, the team has been involved in a series of high-profile transactions, including the sale of 9โ€“11 Post Office Place, Glenroy, and 16โ€“22 Pearcedale Parade, Broadmeadows.

Travis Keenan, Manager & Auctioneer, Melbourne Metro Sales | Investment Services, said Mr Niyaz’s expertise and understanding of the local demographics will bring invaluable strength and insight to the team.

“His experience across retail and development assets will further enhance our ability to service private clients and institutional groups,” Mr Keenan said.

Mr Niyaz’s focus will be on premium investments, strip retail, office, and development assets, aligning with Colliers’ broader strategy to capitalise on the economic potential of Melbourne’s north-west corridor.

“This is an extremely exciting time to be joining the Colliers North West team,” Mr Niyaz said.

“Our national capabilities under the Colliers platform will play a vital role in our team’s success, with a range of initiatives including the Premium Investment Portfolios and cross-collaboration across multiple service lines.”

Mr Niyaz’s appointment is underpinned by a strong portfolio of high performing transactions he has managed across Melbourne’s inner and middle-ring suburbs.

These include the landmark sale of 42โ€“46 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds for $5.61 million, the high-profile office/retail asset at 146โ€“154 Elgin Street, Carlton for $5.525 million, and prime investments at 78-80 Lygon Street, Brunswick East, and 1120-1122 Mt Alexander Road, Essendon, which achieved $3.75 million and $3.4 million respectively.

He also played a lead role in the sale of 284โ€“294 Albert Street, Brunswick – a collection of retail tenancies and accommodation with a combined value exceeding $15.5 million, marking one of the area’s most significant transactions in recent years.

Further demonstrating the momentum of Colliers Investment Services team in the North West, two new listings are set to hit the market shortly, including a YMCA childcare centre in Diggers Rest and a prime corner retail investment at 702B Old Calder Highway, Keilor.
