Raine & Horne held its annual NSW State Awards on Friday night, with the network’s Double Bay/Bondi Beach office retaining its crown as the brand’s best office in the state for the 20th year in a row.
Raine & Horne’s Mollymook Milton and St Marys offices were also among the major winners at the event, which was held virtually for the first time from the International Convention Centre (ICC) at Sydney’s Darling Harbour in a ceremony hosted by Kylie Gillies.
The Double Bay firm, led by principals Ric Serrao and Martin Maskin, was named Top Office for Dollar Value and Top Office Number of Sales ahead of Raine & Horne Mollymook Milton in both categories.Â
Mr Serrao also took out the Top Salesperson (Principal) Dollar Value and finished second in the Top Salesperson (Principal) – Number of Sales for the second year running, behind Ben Pryde of Raine & Horne Mollymook Milton.
Mr Serrao was also named the Graeme Skarratt (GSK) Award recipient for 2020.
“The GSK award is presented to an individual who is a mentor for other Raine & Horne offices or salespeople and a brand champion, and Ric ticks all these boxes,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne.
Stuart Bourne, Managing Director of Raine & Horne Lane Cove, was named Top Auction Lister, with Mr Serrao running second in the category.
Mr Bourne’s office, located on Sydney’s Lower Shore, was among the top four placegetters in the Top Office for Dollar Value and Top Office Number of Sales along with regional powerhouse Raine & Horne Bathurst.
Mr Raine said he was delighted by the NSW network’s performance in 2020 and the mix of regional and city offices among the major winners.
“The split of major winners between the city and regional winners illustrates the reach of the Raine & Horne network in NSW, as well as the strength of the property markets in Sydney and regional NSW,” Mr Raine said.
“There are properties in the city and regional NSW that are selling faster than it takes for an avocado to ripen, and our offices are well-placed to service their clients in the red-hot markets.”
Mr Raine added, “Our offices showed remarkable resilience in 2020 but remained strong and focussed on their clients. It also helped that we invested heavily in innovative digital marketing technologies such as Amplify and Digikit that proved their weight in gold during restrictions and lockdowns”.
In addition to hosting the awards virtually for the first time, the network also presented two new awards.
The Top Salesperson, Highest Transactions category was won by Raine & Horne North Sydney Principal Duncan Grady.Â
Raine & Horne Potts Point Elizabeth Bay, led by principals Luke Hogan, Jane Schumann, and Sam Schumann, took out the award for Best New Office.
“We are always looking for ways to change things up at Raine & Horne and I am thrilled that some of our offices in key markets such as North Sydney and Potts Point have scored these inaugural awards,” Mr Raine said.
Western Suburbs sales agent Peter Diamantidis, from Raine & Horne St Marys, scored dual victories. In the Top Salesperson (Dollar Value) and Top Salesperson (Number of Sales) categories.
“Peter is a repeat winner of these categories, also a regular winner of industry gongs and a major contributor to the success of our brand in Western Sydney,” Mr Raine said.
In the commercial property categories, Raine & Horne Commercial North Sydney won Top Commercial Office – Sales Dollar Value and Top Commercial Office – Number of Sales.
Nick Moloney, a co-principal of the North Sydney firm, was named Top Commercial Salesperson for Number of Sales and Sales Dollar Value.
Michael Ceacis from Raine & Horne Canberra won the new category, Top Commercial Salesperson – Highest Transaction; Luke Horton from Raine & Horne Commercial Port Macquarie was named Top Commercial Leasing Agent – Number of Leasing Transactions; and Raine & Horne Commercial Inner West South Sydney won the Top Auction Lister – Commercial.
