Ray White has wrapped up its awards season, with more than 5,500 members attending eight events across Australia and in Auckland, New Zealand.
Managing Director Dan White has since told the group’s members in it’s spring publication of The White Report, that the events followed a record year across the measures the group watches most closely – market share, market share momentum, auction share, and customer satisfaction.
“It’s always special to have everyone together. But it is as special as special gets to do so after a record year for the group,” Mr White said.
He said the group’s position came down to the people in it.
“We lead the market precisely because we have the best people, and the facts bear that out,” he said.
Mr White said Ray White’s market share across Australia and New Zealand was 14.1 per cent, and its share of the highest-selling agents was well above that.
In Australia, he said 24 of the top 100 agents by value of property sold were with Ray White, more than the next three brands combined. Those 24 agents sold $5.3 billion worth of property, or 24.8 per cent of the value sold by the top 100.
He said the group had two of Australia’s top 10 agents, six of the top 20, and 13 of the top 50.
In New Zealand, Mr White said three of the top 10 agents and 20 of the top 100 were with Ray White, with those 20 recording $1.03 billion in sales.
He said the figures were drawn from sales data across both markets “from a range of sources”.¹
The figures cover residential agents only. Mr White said the data for commercial and rural agents was harder to analyse, but the group was equally proud of those members.
He said the results reflected something the group had pointed to for some time – that its market share growth over the past decade or so had come with fewer offices and fewer agents.
Mr White also acknowledged this year’s changes to the awards format and to the awards themselves, made to align them across the group’s markets.
“Whilst any changes to awards are always controversial we hope we got the balance right,” he said.
“So yes we do have more – we have more of the best.”
