Century 21 Masterpiece owners expand reach with Zetland office

Sydney’s Century 21 Masterpiece has announced its expansion, with the team adding a Zetland office to its existing location at Lane Cove.

Century 21 Masterpiece has been led by selling principal and licensee in charge Evan Kuixiao Wei and Director Jimmy Yijie Luo since 2018.

As Mr Wei told Elite Agent, he and Mr Luo met when they both started working at a small real estate office together in 2017.

“In 2018, we both realised we wanted our own business, and we purchased the Century 21 Lane Cove office from the previous owners,” he said.

Mr Luo said the pair quickly formed a bond and realised their skill sets would complement each other’s well.

“I wanted to focus on developing the property management side of the business, and Evan’s network includes many property developers and investors, so we both have our advantages,” he said.

Mr Luo said that after purchasing the franchise from the previous owners, they quickly set about building the rent roll, growing it from about 100 to more than 900 in the space of two years.

The business recently further bolstered its rent roll and looks after more than 1000 properties. Mr Luo said they have also sold more than 100 properties since September 2019 and employ more than 25 staff across the property management and sales divisions.

Growth has been a primary focus for Century 21 Australasia Chief Executive Officer James Bell since his appointment in February, and he said he was pleased Mr Luo and Mr Wei had chosen to expand their agency with Century 21.

“Evan and Jimmy have built a well-earned reputation for their service since taking over the Lane Cove office,” Mr Bell said.

“Each new location adds to our growing network and further cements Century 21 as the most recognised real estate brand globally.”

PROVIDING PREMIUM SERVICE

Both owners of Century 21 Masterpiece are originally from China, and Mr Wei said although this had helped them create a niche, ensuring they provided premium service was still a primary consideration.

“If you can speak the same language, you can build up trust at the beginning a lot more easily,” he said.

“But if you really want the landlords or vendors to entrust you to lease or sell their property, you definitely have to make sure you provide an outstanding level of service.

“I think the most important thing about Century 21 Masterpiece is our professional service.”

Mr Wei conceded there had been several challenges since the pandemic first hit in March last year, but said the group’s head office had provided plenty of support.

“The head office has helped us overcome some technical problems, and provided us with advice and training opportunities for our new staff,” he said.

“The pandemic definitely created some problems for all real estate agents, but on the other side, it has also provided opportunities for new businesses, such as our young company.”

Despite the success they have achieved since taking over Century 21 Masterpiece, Mr Wei said he and Mr Luo weren’t about to rest on their laurels.

“We have a big target for our company,” he said. “We would like to become the number one real estate agency servicing the Chinese clientele in Sydney.

“We also have plans to open another office in the inner west, which we hope to open later this year or early next year.”
