Hot on the heels of theย announcementย that Harcourts Group Australia is now the second largest real estate brand in the country, the group has revealed another key hire as part of a strategic restructure.ย
High profile auctioneer Mitch Peereboom is joining the group as Chief Executive Officer Queensland. His previous role was COO and Chief Auctioneer for Ray White in the same state.
Harcourts Australia CEO Marcus Williams said the group was excited to welcome Mitch back to the Harcourts family.
โMitch was with Harcourts from 2011 until 2017 and had an amazing career with us, operating as chief auctioneer for the group for four years of that time,โ Mr Williams said.
โWe were of course happy for him when he decided to accept a role with Ray White but are thrilled that heโs now decided itโs time to return home.
โHe rejoins our leadership team in Australia in the key role of CEO Queensland at a time when we have never been closer to our ultimate ambition of becoming the leading brand in the country.
โMitch has incredibly strong relationships both within our group and across the broader industry that will serve him well going forward.โ
Mr Peereboom said having watched Harcourts continue to grow from strength to strength over recent years, he was keen to rejoin the group on its trajectory.
โHarcourts has always been a business that puts people first, thatโs always there to support its people at every level to grow and achieve their ambitions,โ Mr Peereboom said.
โIt has a culture of community which has seen the organisation rapidly grow over just 24 short years. Harcourts is home to some of the leading brands in Australia. This is a journey I want to be a part of.
โThe most rewarding experiences in my career have been supporting business owners and agents to grow their businesses. Itโs what I love and what Iโm most looking forward to in this new role, working closely with the leaders of the future.
โI couldnโt be happier to return and Iโm really looking forward to introducing Harcourts to the broader industry.
โUltimately, companies donโt succeed โ people do.โ
Mr Peereboomโs appointment follows two key new appointments at executive level in the past two months. Lisa Pennell wasย recently namedย as the groupโs COO Australia, whileย Adrian Knowles startsย as CEO for Growth with Harcourts today.ย Mr Peereboom joins Harcourts on 29 June 2021.
