Troubled actor Alec Baldwin has been compelled to significantly reduce the asking price for his opulent Hamptons estate.
The prominent star has recently relisted his seven-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom mansion, seated on an expansive 10-acre plot of land, with a staggering $US10 million ($A15 million) markdown from its initial 2022 listing price.
In an attempt to facilitate the sale of the property, Baldwin has taken the unconventional step of creating a promotional video, personally starring in it, according to realestate.com.au.
The estate, located at 335 Town Ln, Amagansett, New York, is currently on the market with a price tag of $US19 million.
This represents a substantial reduction from its previous listing in September 2022 when it was initially priced at $US29 million.
The latest listing comes complete with a two-minute video showcasing the property, with Baldwin prominently featured throughout.
The video highlights the estate’s proximity to the beach and explores its extensive 10-acre grounds, with Baldwin enthusiastically expressing, “You just canโt get this out here, you canโt buy big pieces of land, especially in Amagansett.”
Baldwin initially set a lofty benchmark with his $US29 million listing price.
However, recognising the shifting dynamics of the real estate market, he made strategic adjustments to the price, first dropping it to $US25 million at the start of 2023, and subsequently lowering it to $US22.5 million.
The listing continues to be managed by Saunders & Associatesโ Scott Bradley and Michael Cinque.
Late last week, Baldwin was also charged with involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting on the set of Rust for a second time.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died after being struck with a real bullet, which had been loaded into a prop gun.
Baldwin has always denied the charges and said he didn’t pull the trigger on the weapon.
While his Hamptons estate garners attention, Baldwin has also been active in the New York City real estate scene, discreetly exploring options for his Manhattan penthouse in Greenwich Village.
On a different note, the actor and his partner have invested in a charming 55-acre farm in Arlington, Vermont, for a substantial sum of $US1.7 million.
