Ray White Clayfield is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Anderson as a Sales Agent, bringing a unique blend of high-level sales experience, local expertise, and an unparalleled work ethic honed through nearly two decades in the thoroughbred racing industry.
Anderson’s journey to real estate is as unconventional as it is impressive. After studying at university and working his way through a degree while working in a pub, he launched a successful career in the beverage industry, rising to National Beer Brand Manager level and gaining 15 years of high-level sales experience across Australia.
He later took the lease on Brisbane’s The Orient Hotel which to an opportunity that would change his life, horse racing.
Despite having three children under the age of two, Anderson pursued his passion with remarkable dedication, working for free at 3am for three years under an experienced trainer to learn the craft.
“I’m not scared of working hard,” Anderson says simply.
That dedication paid off spectacularly, Anderson went on to establish himself as one of Queensland’s elite horse trainers, reaching 9th in the state rankings at his peak.
His Eagle Farm operation grew to 80 horses, with 35 in work and 40 in the paddock.
Among his success stories was training the talented, along with numerous other quality performers.
Now at 50, Anderson has made the decision many contemplate, but few execute: a complete career change into an industry he’s always loved, which is property.
“It was now or never,” Anderson said.
“I’ve always loved property and was going to take the plunge eventually. At 50, with a fair bit of life experience under my belt, the timing felt right for 2026 to be my year in real estate.”
The choice of Ray White Clayfield was deliberate. After connecting with Ray White Collective CEO Haesley Cush, Anderson was immediately impressed. “It’s a wonderful brand with a great culture, it was a no brainer,” he says.
“If I can have a 12-year career training horses while only starting in my late 30s, and become 9th in the metropolitan arena in Queensland at one stage of my career, I’m ready for this challenge.”
Anderson’s local credentials are impeccable. A long-time Northside resident who grew up locally, and played rugby for Brothers, he brings intimate knowledge of the community and extensive connections built over decades.
He commenced with the agency last week, partnering with established agent Nicholas Given as he transitions into real
“Chris brings exactly the qualities we value at Ray White Clayfield,” says Principal Nicholas Given. “His sales background, work ethic, and deep local roots make him a perfect fit for our team. His success in racing demonstrates someone who commits fully and achieves at the highest level, that’s the mindset we want serving our clients.”
Anderson is maintaining a small boutique racing stable while building his real estate career, bringing the same attention to detail and client service that made him successful on the track to the property market.
