RW Capital has appointed Peter Shear as its Chief Investment Officer and opened an office in Seoul, as the real estate investment manager reshapes its leadership to support international expansion.

Peter is a former Ernst & Young partner and senior executive at Lloyds Banking Group.

He has held roles across credit, private equity, and hedge funds.

He is also currently a non-executive director of US Masters Residential Property Fund.

As well as the CIO role, Peter joins the investment committee alongside Dan White, Stephen Girdis, James Hodgkinson, and Andrew Jamson.

The appointment coincides with the formation of a new executive committee. Chaired by director and partner Sean Walsh, it includes Steven Bougoukas (COO), David Mao (Head of Capital), Chrisanthe Makris (General Counsel), Matthew Falk (Head of Investments), and Robert Anualla (Finance Director).

Meanwhile, George Ajaka moves from CEO to joint executive chairman alongside Dan. The shift frees George to focus on capital partner relationships – particularly in Asia Pacific and the GCC.

“Peter joins the team after a very strong close to 2025,” George said.

Seoul office

That international focus is already taking shape.

RW Capital has opened an office on Namdaemun Road in central Seoul, led by Andrew Kim with an initial team of three.

Heesuk Bang (Chairman), Andrew Kim (CEO), George Ajaka and Dan White.
In front is Samhee Nam (Managing Director, Investments)

Andrew previously served as Director of Client Portfolio Management at Invesco Real Estate Korea and Head of Global Real Estate at Hanwha Asset Management.

The firm recently welcomed a leading Korean insurer as a cornerstone investor in its Strategic Credit Fund 3.

“The recent investment by our Korean investor illustrates both the value our platform offers South Korean institutional capital as well as the potential for us to build similar relationships,” Andrew said.

George and Dan joined Andrew and David Mao for the official opening.

“Our team and office in Seoul is testament to our commitment to our current and future South Korean investor partners,” George said.

RW Capital manages $1.8 billion in assets across Australia and New Zealand. The firm expanded its credit funds, industrial development, and living sector strategies in 2025. It also welcomed institutional partners including Mitsubishi Estate Asia and Woori Bank
