REA Group acquires real-time lifestyle data platform Neighbourlytics

REA Group acquires Neighbourlytics, an Australian data platform that reveals how people actually live in neighbourhoods beyond demographic statistics.

Founded in 2017, Neighbourlytics offers real-time lifestyle and mobility data, including foot traffic, visitor trends, lifestyle personas, top destinations, and accessibility, to paint an informed picture of how people live, move, and connect within communities.

REA Group Executive General Manager of PropTrack, Kris Matthews, said the acquisition will bolster community data and insights for consumers, giving property seekers a richer understanding of neighbourhoods beyond the property itself.

“Australians don’t just buy a property, they buy into a community and a lifestyle. This data will help our consumers understand more about the property and the community around it, enabling them to make more informed decisions in their property search.

“Our goal is to provide the richest, most up-to-date, relevant and comprehensive real estate data in Australia. Neighbourlyics is a natural fit and I’m particularly excited to explore the integration opportunities on both realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au,” Mr Matthews said.

The Neighbourlytics platform produces instant community research reports that are powered by proprietary data measuring what matters most across any Australian neighbourhood.

Neighbourlytics founder and CEO, Jessica Christiansen-Franks, commented: “Neighbourlytics tells you what it’s like to live in a local area and what the local identity is. Too often, local lifestyle is summarised by demographics, when it’s actually the lived experience that makes us feel connected to the places that we live.

“That’s where we come in, our real-time data can tell you what people love about their local neighbourhoods, where they spend their time, and how people move into and around the local community.

“I’m delighted Neighbourlytics is now part of REA Group, and I look forward to sharing our valuable neighbourhood insights with a broader audience through REA’s leading property brands.”
