Ray White Rural and Livestock names Matt White as new CEO

Ray White Rural and Livestock today announced an important leadership change, with Stephen Nell transitioning to his new role of Executive Director.

Fourth generation family member Matt White, currently working alongside Stephen as Managing Director, will succeed him as Chief Executive Officer, from July 1.

Stephen Nell has served as CEO of Ray White Rural and Livestock for the past eight years, during which time he has been instrumental in driving significant growth and performance across the network.

His leadership has also redefined and enhanced the support offering of the Ray White Rural corporate team, strengthening the capabilities of agents across rural Australia.

In his new capacity as Executive Director, Stephen will continue to be an invaluable asset to the network, focusing on mentoring and nurturing talent.

He will also provide dedicated support to salespeople in securing large-scale agricultural listing appointments and marketing campaigns, leveraging his deep expertise and relationships.

“It has been an immense privilege to lead Ray White Rural and Livestock for the past eight years,” Stephen Nell said.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and the strong foundation we have built.

“I am excited to transition into this new role, allowing me to continue contributing to the success of our network in a more focused, advisory capacity, particularly in supporting our agents with significant agricultural opportunities.”

Matt White, who has been working closely with Stephen for several years, expressed his enthusiasm for the new role.

“This is what I have been working towards for most of my career, and I am looking forward to embracing the challenges that come with the role,” Matt White said.

“I have learned a great deal from Stephen Nell over the last several years, particularly in regard to leadership.

“The opportunity to lead a company that my father Paul White started 30 years ago is a great privilege and one I don’t take on lightly.”

The transition comes at a pivotal time for rural Australia, as communities continue to experience and recover from the impacts of natural disasters such as flooding and drought.

Ray White Rural and Livestock remains committed to supporting these communities and their agricultural industries through these challenges.

Matt has a proven track record of driving growth and he has been instrumental in enhancing the company’s market presence and operational efficiency for some years.

His understanding of the rural and livestock sectors, combined with his experience of owning a Ray White franchise will stand him in a good position to help steer Ray White Rural and Livestock into its next phase of growth.

Paul White, Chairman of Ray White Rural and Livestock, commented on the transition: “Stephen’s leadership over the past eight years has been transformative for Ray White Rural and Livestock, and we are incredibly grateful for his dedication, vision and passion.

“His move to Executive Director ensures we retain his invaluable experience and guidance,” Mr White said.

“We are equally thrilled to welcome Matt White into the CEO role.

“Matt brings a deep understanding of our business and a strong commitment to our rural communities, and we have every confidence in his ability to lead Ray White Rural and Livestock into its next chapter of success.”
