According to Mansion Global, the former hockey star’s property, located in Malibu’s Paradise Cove neighbourhood, is now on the market for $59.995 million (AUD$91.49 million) after being initially listed at $75 million (AUD$114.38 million) in 2023.
This is the second price reduction for the luxury home, which was previously dropped to $67.5 million (AUD$102.94 million) earlier this year.
Chelios and his wife Tracee have owned the 0.43-acre oceanfront property since 2003, when they purchased it for $6 million (AUD$9.15 million).
The estate features a 3,895-square-foot main residence built into the hillside at the end of a cul-de-sac off the Pacific Coast Highway.
According to the listing, the multi-level home, constructed in 1982, offers four bedrooms and includes open-plan living spaces illuminated by a pitched skylight.
Sliding doors open to glassed-in decks providing panoramic ocean views, while the primary suite features a private ocean-view patio and fireplace.

One of the property’s most distinctive features is a large cabana situated directly on the sand, complete with an extensive patio and rooftop designed for beachfront entertaining.
The cabana functions as a self-contained guest house with its own kitchen, dining area, and primary suite.
The listing is being handled by Carl Gambino and John Bercsi of Compass, who have been tasked with finding a buyer for this premium coastal property.

Chelios, now 63, enjoyed one of the longest careers in professional hockey history, spanning nearly three decades.
He began with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1980s before spending a decade with the Chicago Blackhawks and another with the Detroit Red Wings, where he secured two of his three Stanley Cup championships.

When he retired in 2010 at age 48, Chelios held the distinction of being the oldest active player in the NHL.
Throughout his career, he maintained residences in various locations, including suburban Chicago and Detroit, reflecting his team affiliations.
