Mark Wahlberg buys $37 million Florida mansion on ‘Billionaires Row’

Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has purchased a lavish US$37 million (AUD$50 million) mansion in Florida's exclusive "Billionaires Row," just months after selling his Beverly Hills estate to Paris Hilton for US$63.1 million.

The 54-year-old actor acquired the fully furnished Italian-style dwelling, known as Palazzo di Lago, located in the gated Stone Creek Ranch community near Delray Beach.

According to Realtor.com, the property was purchased from spec developer Aldo Stark, who had bought the home in January for US$26 million before completing a comprehensive renovation.

Wahlberg, represented by Michael Costello of Compass, secured a significant discount on the property, which had been listed in March for US$45 million by Senada Adžem of Douglas Elliman.

The sprawling 18,206-square-foot sanctuary sits on a 2.7-acre lot and features seven bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, two powder rooms, and numerous luxury amenities.

The property includes a home theatre, cigar lounge, wine cellar, gym, sauna, guesthouse, and a resort-style pool.

The mansion, initially built in 2017, was described in marketing materials as “an architectural masterpiece and a rarefied offering that embodies the pinnacle of luxury living in South Florida.”

For the fitness-focused Wahlberg, the home’s wellness facilities likely proved particularly appealing.

The property features “a fully equipped gym, sauna, and massage room, and effortlessly opens out to a private tennis court and a saltwater lagoon pool that holds 170,000 gallons of cascading, crystal-clear water.”

Luxury details abound throughout the residence, including custom-designed crystal chandeliers and a hidden cigar lounge with an advanced air-purification system. The property also includes a separate guesthouse for staff or visitors.

This purchase follows Wahlberg’s lucrative sale of his Beverly Hills estate to Paris Hilton earlier this year.

The 44-year-old heiress and businesswoman paid US$63.1 million for the 6-acre property in the gated community of Beverly Park, which features 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms.

Wahlberg had originally purchased the land for his Beverly Hills home for just US$8.25 million in 2009, commissioning famed architect Richard Landry to design the opulent residence in 2014.

The actor initially listed the mansion for US$87.5 million but ultimately accepted a significantly lower offer after nearly a year on the market.
