Ray White Rural has promoted Liam Kirkwood to National Livestock Manager, elevating the 2021 National Young Auctioneers Competition winner to lead livestock operations across the network.

Liam began his career at 23 under Kevin Currie, a founding member of Ray White Livestock.

He won the Queensland Young Auctioneers Competition in 2019, then topped 16 finalists at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2021 to claim the national title – the largest field the competition had seen.

That same year, he became principal of the Townsville Rural and Livestock business, making him one of the youngest principals in the network.

He later formed a strategic partnership with Charters Towers agency Geaneys, creating Geaney Kirkwood.

The merged business recorded the highest-priced rural property sale at auction in the Ray White Rural network for 2025.

Liam joined the Ray White Rural corporate team as Livestock Associate in 2024 before this latest appointment.

“Liam is exactly the kind of person who makes this industry exciting,” said Matt White, CEO of Ray White Rural & Livestock.

“He’s got the hunger, the skill, and the genuine care for our members that this role demands. Watching him build Geaney Kirkwood told us everything – he doesn’t just grow a business, he elevates everyone around him.”
