Late Broadway producer’s Miami Beach condo lists for $19.39m (A$30.1m)

A Miami Beach condo owned by late Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Luigi Caiola has hit the market for $19.39 million (A$30.1m), with the sale to include its custom furnishings and most of the art.

Caiola, who died in 2023 at age 64, and his husband Sean McGill merged two units in the Continuum South Tower to create a 3,717-square-foot residence featuring four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

According to Mansion Global, the couple purchased the first unit in 2009 for $1.85 million (A$2.9m) and the second in 2018 for $3.6 million (A$5.6m), before embarking on a three-year renovation.

The result is a home that blends ocean views with a collection of site-specific artworks and custom design pieces.

Among its features are a polka-dot resin tunnel by Hoon Kim, mosaics by AFS Mosaics, an interactive video artwork by Jacco Olivier, and a hand-carved botanical wall and ceiling by Caleb Woodard in the dining room.

The primary bedroom showcases a coral reef-inspired headboard and rug by Vanessa Barragao, while each bathroom carries a different artistic theme.

Bill Hernandez of Douglas Elliman, who holds the listing, said the interiors offer a unique sensory experience.

“It’s like living in a piece of art,” he said.

He said that the natural light, ocean views and sculptural design “instantly make you smile.”

The property was designed by Joe Nahem of Fox-Nahem Associates and profiled in Architectural Digest.

Caiola’s sister, Rose Caiola, who is handling the sale, described the apartment as her brother’s “dream home,” completed shortly before his death.

“The whole apartment is a testament to Luigi’s love of art and eye for design,” she said.
