Laing+Simmons East Group has acquired long-standing Eastern Suburbs agency Mendes Real Estate, setting the scene for major growth in 2026 and beyond.
This strategic move comes just two months after the group’s acquisition of Prestige Property Agency, reinforcing its position at the forefront of the highly competitive Eastern Suburbs market.
Originally established as Roger R Mendes & Co in Darlinghurst in 1971, the family-run independent agency became Mendes Real Estate in 1991 when it moved to Bondi Junction.
The business has maintained a long-standing connection with Laing+Simmons East Group, with Director Kevin Mendes running the Mendes Real Estate portfolio in recent years.
Mr Mendes will continue to oversee the management of the agency’s long-standing clientele as part of the formal acquisition.
According to Laing+Simmons East Group Director Fyonn Wolf, who oversees the company’s growing property management arm, the acquisition significantly strengthens their property management division.
“Bringing the Mendes Real Estate business into the fold significantly bolsters our property management offering,” Mr Wolf said.
“Their long-standing relationships and consistent service standard align perfectly with our ethos, and this acquisition allows us to enhance our reach while maintaining the personalised, high-quality management our clients rely on.”
Fellow Director Imran Hamidi emphasised that the acquisition deepens the company’s sales footprint across its core markets.
“This opens the door to new opportunities on the sales side,” Mr Hamidi said.
“Mendes Real Estate has a rich history and loyal client base, and combining that legacy with our systems, expertise and market reach will accelerate our transaction volume and service capability.”
Following a period of strong momentum and accelerated growth, Laing+Simmons East Group remains focused on continuous and rapid expansion with further strategic plans to be executed in 2026.
