The television personality and environmental activist completed the ultra-luxe property last year but has decided to relocate with his partner, Ameka, and their young children to a 30-hectare farm in the Byron Bay hinterland.
“We want to give the kids a couple of years on the land before they start school, and if we don’t do it now we’ll be trapped in the city and private schools forever,” Jamie told the AFR.
The decision to sell came after receiving two unsolicited offers in the $30 millions range, prompting the family to reconsider their future plans despite initially viewing the property as their “forever home.”

The seven-storey residence cascades down a steep 1000-square-metre block that he purchased for approximately $2.3 million in 2015.
The home features recycled concrete and sandstone construction, with each level offering unique water views across Pittwater.
Durie collaborated with architecture firm Silvester Fuller and builder Antoine Gittany from Dilcara to realise his vision, describing it as “the most significant project” of his career and “a legacy project.”

The property boasts impressive environmental credentials, including the ability to operate completely off-grid on sunny days.
It utilises eight 125-metre deep geothermal probes for heating and cooling, rooftop solar panels, carbon-absorbing exterior paint, and insulation made from recycled glass.
“Anyone interested in longevity, wellbeing, luxury and sustainability โ then this is the house for them,” Jamie said.

The central living level features eight-metre, double-height ceilings surrounded by indoor gardens that he calls the “hanging gardens of Avalon.”
Other notable features include a “Jurassic morning garden” with bottle trees and cycads, and a hidden sandstone grotto overlooking the water.
Below the main living area is the sleeping zone, while a dedicated wellness level includes a mirrored yoga and pilates room, gym, dry sauna, steam room, and cedar ice bath on the balcony.

The waterfront property includes a 1950s-style boathouse and private beach, offering direct access for sailing, swimming, and kayaking.
The property is crowned with a rooftop garden featuring 1000-year-old grass trees from Western Australia, reflecting Jamie’s decades-long environmental activism that began during his early studies at Ryde Horticultural College.

Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase the home fully furnished, including vintage and recycled designer furniture and Italian-built dining chairs designed by Jamie himself.
The Riverview Road property is listed with McGrath’s James Baker with expressions of interest closing in early November.
The new owner will join notable neighbours including the Oatley family, Mortgage Choice co-founder Peter Higgins, and entrepreneur Dick Smith.
