After a career spanning more than two decades in the local automotive industry, working from detailer right through to general sales manager positions, Dominic took a “leap of faith” into real estate in 2020.
Despite entering the industry during the clutches of a global pandemic, his transition was nothing short of a sprint.
“I was told to shadow the principal for a few months, but I was already listing properties after just four weeks,” Dominic said.
“I noticed quite quickly that no local agents were really utilising social media, and I was really keen to use that to my advantage. It was pandemic times, which made virtual tours and video walk-throughs more important than ever.
“It allowed me to reach a larger audience at a very high touch point level quickly, setting suburb records for both residential and commercial sales within my first year.”
This rapid ascent was supported by a name deeply embedded in the Muswellbrook community. The Pike family owned and operated a local car dealership for over 35 years – originally a Ford franchise and growing into multiple franchises – and Dominic’s father was a cornerstone of local life.
“My dad was a big supporter of the community, and we were heavily involved in events and sponsorships,” Dominic said.
“I really want to keep my Dad’s legacy alive in this town. He was a huge supporter of the rugby club along with many other organisations.
“I’m involved in the pre-school and the rugby club committees myself, and soon to be part of the greater school community as my own family grows.”
The decision to partner with Ray White was driven by a shared appreciation for family-run values and long-term strategy. While other agencies approached him, Dominic found that the Ray White team offered a level of genuine partnership that others couldn’t match.
“Coming from a family business background, the story of Ray White really resonated with me. I am a brand loyalist at heart; I believe in the brand and I wear the colors with pride,” he said.
“They were the only ones who demonstrated real care and compassion in their approach. It’s not just a franchise money grab; they genuinely want to partner with me. Strategically, we want to expand through the Hunter using their systems and procedures to ensure we grow the right way.”
The Muswellbrook market is a unique, high-energy environment, characterised by its “blue collar” roots and a booming rental sector.
“Muswellbrook is a beautiful area surrounded by wineries, coal mines, farming and heavy industry whilst also being connected to the greater hunter via easy day trips, places like Scone, Mudgee, Gloucester, Newcastle to name a few,” Dominic said.
“A large portion of our market is investment properties. But when you dig deeper, there is so much happening: we have Newcastle University specialist campus, a massive TAFE operation, a STEM centre, and a brilliant new outdoor community engagement facility being built in the main street, along with plenty of state and federally funded projects on the horizon, there is still room for growth in the market and that’s really exciting!
“Our vision is to bring high-quality, engaging marketing to the region and make real estate fun again.”
As Dominic prepares to lead the market as a business owner, his vision has the full backing of the state’s leadership. Tim Snell, Ray White NSW|ACT CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership and the energy Dominic brings to the brand.
“We are incredibly proud to have Dominic Pike join the Ray White family as a business owner,” he said.
“Dominic’s deep-rooted connection to the Muswellbrook community, combined with his high-performance background and innovative approach to marketing, makes him the perfect leader to take this business forward.
“He represents exactly what we look for in our partners: a long-term thinker who prioritises family values and exceptional service. We are excited to support his growth across the Hunter region.”
