The event takes place this Thursday and Friday at their office, with the goal of raising vital funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
This year’s “Movember Moves” event will see the Harcourts Mandurah team take continuous turns on two treadmills, generously donated for the cause by Orbit Fitness.
The team is committed to keeping the treadmills in motion for the entire 36-hour period, demonstrating their dedication to a cause that holds personal significance for many in the office.
Paul Blakely, Director of Harcourts Mandurah, shared the inspiration behind the annual fundraiser.
“Last year we got behind the Movember cause as an office and committed to riding nonstop for 36 hours on a stationary Bike. Brad Malingre, one of our Sales Reps lost a brother to suicide and is passionate about this cause, which is the why behind this fund-raising event.”
“We have 30 staff participating in the treadmill walk, which is a mix of Sales, Admin and Support Staff.”
The Movember movement, which began with two friends in Melbourne in 2003, has grown into a global phenomenon.
Over the past 20 years, it has funded more than 1,320 men’s health projects worldwide, significantly impacting research and support services.
From its humble beginnings with 30 participants, the movement now includes over 6 million people dedicated to helping men live healthier, longer lives.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
