Former triathlete Ingi Doyle lists luxury waterfront home

A stunning architectural home in Birtinya has hit the market as former triathlete Ingi Doyle prepares for a new chapter following a significant health challenge.

The north-facing waterfront property at 4 Buruwang Street features over 370 square metres of refined living space on a 720 square metre block, designed by Christopher Design Architects and built by Terry Bevis Homes.

Ms Doyle’s decision to sell comes after experiencing a bad reaction to the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in 2021, which resulted in life-threatening injuries, major surgery, and the end of her competitive sporting career.

“We absolutely love this house, it’s been our passion project and our sanctuary,” Ms Doyle said.

“But we’ve learned life is short, and we want to live it fully. That means simplifying, spending more time travelling, and doing more of what we love.”

The property boasts meticulous design elements, including a soaring two-storey void upon entry, an Italian travertine feature wall, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling glass that captures sweeping water views.

A newly renovated designer kitchen serves as the heart of the home, complemented by expansive indoor and outdoor living zones.

The main bedroom suite offers panoramic views, dual showers, a walk-in wardrobe and a private water closet.

The outdoor space has been transformed into a resort-like setting featuring a 25-metre heated lap pool, a 12-person spa, expansive decking, a sunken gas fire pit, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen.

A recently added steam room faces the lake, providing peaceful views and a tranquil space for relaxation.

With only one adjoining neighbour and a 10-metre setback from the lake pathway, the property offers exceptional privacy while maintaining direct water access for activities like paddle-boarding and rowing.

“This home was designed for wellness,” Ms. Doyle said.

“Whether it’s the space, the quiet, the light, or the ability to swim every day, it really supports a healthy way of living.

“That’s what we’ve always valued.”

The couple has completed extensive upgrades throughout the property during their nearly five-year ownership.

The home has been freshly painted with new appliances, lighting, and smart technology installed throughout.

There is also ample space for a caravan or boat and secure parking.

The property’s location near the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and major wellness facilities adds to its appeal for a variety of potential buyers, from growing families to professional couples or active retirees seeking a lifestyle of elegance and connection to nature.

Ms Doyle believes the home would suit someone looking for space and tranquillity.

“I see it as a perfect home for someone who wants space to breathe,” she said.

“It could be someone raising kids, someone working from home, or someone who just wants to enjoy life by the water.”

“This home helped me through one of the hardest times of my life,” she said.

“Now I’m healthy, strong, and ready for what’s next and it’s time for someone else to make their memories here.”
