The 537 square meter penthouse, located in Newstead’s luxury residential tower fronting Festival Place, is being marketed through an expressions of interest campaign closing September 30 according to the listing.
Mr Meij described the property as his and wife Jenny’s best purchase “from a liveability point of view,” but the couple has decided selling makes more sense than keeping a property they would rarely use.
“We did think about keeping it, but when you’re going to be living overseas 48 to 50 weeks of the year… it seems silly,” Mr Meij told realestate.com.au.

The penthouse features extensive luxury amenities including a grand master retreat, three ensuite bedrooms, a private gym, an office, a sauna, and various plunge pools.

The Newstead location offers residents walkable access to dining establishments and the river, combined with lock-up-and-leave convenience that appeals to luxury buyers according to the listing.
The luxury apartment market in the area has shown strong growth, with PropTrack figures indicating the median unit price in nearby Teneriffe has increased 15 per cent over the past year and 38 per cent over the past three years, now sitting at just under $1 million.

Mr Meij, who spent 22 years as CEO of Domino’s and a total of 40 years with the company, is now preparing for his next business venture in the United States.
